If you’re tagging a few days of leisure onto a work trip, networking in Bangkok is easier than you’d think, but the paperwork has changed. Since 15 September 2026, Thailand’s 30-day visa exemption covers tourism only, so business meetings need a proper visa.
Below, you’ll find which entry route fits a bleisure trip, where visiting professionals meet people after hours, where to find a Sunday roast when you’re homesick, and which neighbourhoods make a good base.
Which Visa Do You Need for a Bangkok Bleisure Trip?
Sort this before anything else. Visitors from the UK, US, Australia, Canada and the rest of the 60-country list can still enter visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism, with one extension of up to 30 days at an immigration officer’s discretion. Meetings, conferences and other business no longer fit that exemption, so you’ll need the appropriate visa arranged before you fly.
For longer stays working remotely, the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) is the route built for it. The Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs DTV factsheet sets out a five-year, multiple-entry visa with stays of up to 180 days per entry, one extension of up to 180 days, and proof of at least 500,000 THB in funds.

Where Do Professionals Network in Bangkok?
The national chambers of commerce are the easiest way in for a visitor, because their evening events are open to non-members and you can book a single ticket. Two to look at first:
- British Chamber of Commerce Thailand (BCCT): its BCCT Connecting Bangkok networking evening on 23 July 2026 ran from 6pm to 9pm with food and free-flow drinks, at 2,200 THB for non-members.
- AustCham Thailand: its Sundowners are billed as Bangkok’s monthly AustCham networking event, held on a weekday evening, and non-members paid 1,700 THB in 2025.
| Event | When | Non-member price | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| BCCT Connecting Bangkok | Weekday evening, 6pm to 9pm | 2,200 THB (July 2026) | Non-members email to book; no walk-ins |
| AustCham Sundowners | Monthly, weekday evening, 6pm to 9pm | 1,700 THB (2025) | Members can also bring guests |
| Sunday roast at KAI | Sundays, 11am to 10pm | From 700 THB++ per sharing platter | Book ahead for groups |
Book chamber events in advance. BCCT takes payment at booking, releases unpaid places 24 hours before the event and doesn’t refund late cancellations, so don’t treat it as a drop-in pub night. Venues move around the city, so check the listing for the address.
Prices and dates were checked in November 2026. The chambers publish their own calendars, and dates shift month to month.
Where Can You Find a Sunday Roast in Bangkok?
Street food and night markets are the reason to be in Bangkok, but after a week of meetings a plate of something familiar can hit the spot. A Sunday roast also doubles as a low-key social event, since expat tables fill up and conversations start easily.
For a sunday roast Bangkok option, KAI is a New Zealand restaurant and seafood grill on Sathorn 12 in the Silom area. It serves its roast every Sunday from 11am to 10pm, with aged striploin, spring lamb, pork belly, organic chicken or a vegan roast, plus potatoes, gravy and sides. Family-style sharing platters start at 700 THB++, and the “++” means service charge and VAT are added on top.
Bigger groups can book KAI’s private dining room, which makes it a handy spot to host a few contacts on your last weekend in town.

Why Mix Networking and Leisure on a Business Trip?
The leisure days are where a lot of the useful conversations happen. A 2024 qualitative study of 24 academics in Türkiye found that tasting local flavours was the activity they mentioned most on bleisure trips, and that building business relationships was one of the main benefits they reported.
It’s a small study of one profession, so treat it as a pointer. Still, it matches the common-sense version: a relaxed dinner or a chamber evening gives people time to talk that a 30-minute meeting slot doesn’t.
Which Bangkok Neighbourhoods Suit a Bleisure Base?
Thonglor and Ekkamai, on the BTS Sukhumvit line, are popular with remote workers for their cafés, coworking spaces and restaurants, and Silom and Sathorn put you close to the business district. Our guide to where to stay in Sukhumvit for a bleisure trip compares the stretches along the line.
The Skytrain is the simplest way to stitch meetings and evenings together, and our guide to planning a Bangkok itinerary around the BTS Skytrain maps it out. If the trip is long, our tips on balancing work and wellness on a Bangkok bleisure trip help you keep some downtime in the diary.
