Travelers impacted by the sudden shutdown of Spirit Airlines are getting a lifeline from rival budget carrier Frontier Airlines, which has rolled out steep fare discounts and an aggressively priced unlimited summer flight pass.
The Denver-based airline says it is stepping in to help stranded passengers rework their plans without paying last-minute prices, while also expanding service on routes previously dominated by Spirit.
Discount fares launched for disrupted travelers
Frontier has introduced a limited-time promotion offering up to 50 percent off base fares across its network. The deal applies to travel through mid-November 2026, with bookings required by May 10 using a promotional code.
The biggest savings are tied to less busy travel days. Flyers who can depart on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Saturdays and book at least three weeks in advance unlock the full 50 percent discount. Those traveling on other days can still access smaller savings without advance purchase requirements.
There are some blackout dates around peak summer and holiday periods, so flexibility remains key for travelers hoping to maximize the deal.
$199 unlimited summer flying pass returns
Alongside discounted tickets, Frontier is pushing its GoWild Summer Pass, now priced at $199 for a limited booking window. The pass allows access to unlimited domestic flights through early September, although availability is controlled and additional taxes and fees apply per segment.
Unlike traditional tickets, GoWild bookings typically open closer to departure, sometimes as late as the day before for domestic routes. That makes the pass better suited to flexible travelers rather than those with fixed itineraries.
Early booking fees may apply depending on travel dates, with the cheapest options often tied to midweek departures.
Frontier expands on former Spirit routes
Frontier says it already operates more than 100 routes that were previously flown by Spirit and plans to grow further in the coming months. The expansion includes new routes and additional daily frequencies across key leisure and domestic corridors.
Major city pairs seeing continued or increased service include:
- Atlanta to Orlando, Miami, and Las Vegas
- Dallas to Los Angeles and New York LaGuardia
- Newark to Orlando and San Juan
- Chicago to Fort Myers and Tampa
- Orlando to Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and international destinations
Florida, Las Vegas, and Caribbean routes remain a major focus, reflecting where demand from former Spirit customers is likely strongest.
